Located halfway round Penang island is Entopia, a butterfly haven along with some other insects, reptiles and animals. It is a pleasant place for a half-day trip of leisure exploration and learning with family and friends.
We had spent our weekend in this nature-friendly place and it was well worth it.
Entopia consists of 2 areas, the garden section underneath a glass-like dome and an indoor building filled with exhibitions on insects. The weather was nice and sunny so we got to spent our time walking around while various kinds of butterflies fluttered around us. Some butterflies tend to fly quite low so just be careful while you’re walking to make sure you don’t accidentally step on any of them.
On a side note, be sure to wear comfortable shoes. There are plenty of sights to see and apart from butterflies, there were various reptiles as well as insects that we could learn about. We have to say that the place is huge as we spent close to 3 hours discovering the whole place!
The outdoors felt generally cooling with the plants, trees and waterfall surrounding us. It is a beautiful place and is definitely suitable for people of any ages to visit. For parents, this is a great place for you to explore with your kids. Nature-lovers and for some of you who would like to experience a day close with the butterflies, you’ll love this place!
After you’ve completed the whole walk through the garden area, you’ll easily find the entrance to the indoors. There, you’ll go through maze-like tunnels and caves which are quite interesting to see.
Let’s have a peek at what it looks like inside,
P.S.: Entopia is now part of the Cuti-Cuti Pulau Pinang program and they are offering 50% off normal prices for all Malaysian citizens till 31st December 2020. If you’re interested to visit, here are more details – Entopia Cuti-Cuti Pulau Pinang.
